Requirements

👉 Copy of valid photo ID: driver's license/official ID or passport.

Availability

✅ Since 1885, under the old "Registro Civil", with exceptions.

Official format

1. Regular: ✅ Letter size ✨ the most common ✨
   ⏱ Processing times (business days)
   📅 Standard: 15 days
   ⚡ Fast: 10 days
   🔥 Urgent: 5 days
   ⚠️ Births from 100 years ago or more may take up to 60 calendar days.
   
2. Literal or "long": Legal size with additional information, only for special procedures (e.g., Spanish citizenship, correction of errors, or name change). See example here.
