Right to request
- Parents, legal representatives, custodians, guardians, or heirs.
New format
- Since July 2010, the certificates have an updated security format and are valid only if issued after that date. They are colored red for easy identification.
Historical record
- The Puerto Rico Demographic Registry began in 1931, but they have many entries from 1885 to 1931. For data prior to 1885, it is suggested to search FamilySearch.org or Ancestry.com.
Type
- Regular: Most common, in letter size.
- Literal or long: Uncommon, legal size, includes additional details such as time of death. Processing time is up to 30 days.
Language
- Automatically published in Spanish and English.
Correction of errors
- We obtain the certificate as registered in the Demographic Registry.
- We can make corrections, or changes, through this other link.
Processing and shipping time
- Regular: 10 working days, plus shipping time.
- Urgent: 3 to 5 working days, plus shipping time.
- Shipping: The cost is automatically calculated according to the address provided when ordering. To USA and PR are by federal mail, and international via FedEx® or UPS®.
