What is its purpose?
This certificate is an official document issued by the government of Puerto Rico confirming your Puerto Rican citizenship.
It may be useful for legal and official procedures, including matters related to Spanish citizenship, as well as for other purposes where you need to formally prove your connection to Puerto Rico.

- 🌍 It can be used for official and legal proceedings where formal proof of Puerto Rican citizenship is required.
Who can apply?
You need to comply with only one (1) of the following requirements:
- ✅ Be a native of Puerto Rico.
- ✅ Have a parent who was born in Puerto Rico.
- ✅ Have resided in Puerto Rico for at least one (1) year.
Requirements
🇵🇷 Born in Puerto Rico:
- Valid photo ID: passport (preferred) or driver's license/official ID.
- Copy of your birth certificate.
🌐 Born outside of Puerto Rico:
- Valid photo ID: passport (preferred) or driver's license/official ID.
- Copy of your birth certificate.
- A copy of the birth certificate of your father or mother who was born in Puerto Rico, if applicable.
❗ The birth certificate from Puerto Rico must be in the current format (blue blue), issued on or after July 2010. 👉 If you don’t have one, add it to your order!
